We love our cats. We even think of them as part of the family and call them our “fur-babies” and “fur-kids”. And, like our children, we will do what it takes to make sure they live happy, healthy lives.

I got my fur-baby from the Humane Society, and for the first 6 years everything was fine. Then, she came down very sick and had to have a lot of veterinary care. It turned out she had struvite crystals and had to have them removed from her little bladder. Poor thing!

When you get a new cat, you will need to get the things a cat needs. Food and the food and water dishes. A litter box and litter. Toys. And especially some cat furniture — a cat tree for climbing, a scratching post for your cat to scratch and “pull claws” on, and a nice safe place for them to rest and sleep — either a cat bed or cat condo. Cats sleep up to two-thirds of the day or more, and they need to feel safe and secure.
